Heathen Tom is a ukuklele-strumming songwriter in Grand Rapids, MI.

Tom (she/he/they) grew a strong affection for music in church and school throughout childhood and into their schooling years. From marching on the drumline to playing marimba and timpani during concert season to composing and mixing digitally at their home studio—music has remained a key component of Tom’s life over the years. Friendships with musicians fostered a particular love for harmonics and heartfelt lyricism.

In 2023 Tom began writing and playing on the ukulele nearly every day. Heathen Tom published their first original song, Little House, on December 20, 2024. Much of Tom’s music carries themes of deconstruction, grief, love, and aspiration for a better world—with universal healthcare.
